Brad graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. After a year working in Louisville after graduating, he spent the next thirteen years in Chicagoland, working in one of the most competitive and high-end markets in the country. Although he developed many large-scale, estate projects, he also created solutions for many simple projects too. He learned that sometimes small projects can be just as challenging as large ones and that each project should be just as impressive as the other when completed. He believes that a client should be just as amazed with his/her landscape in year five as he/she was in year one. Brad is highly-experienced in landscape design, hardscape construction, project sales and estimation, and project/construction management.
Honing his skills in such a highly-competitive market, Brad was allowed opportunities to work with master craftsmen to learn the best construction methods and the details to maximize the durability of hardscape features. He believes that the details are what distinguish great results from adequate results. He also mastered solutions for grading and drainage problems. He knows there is no such thing as the inability to drain a site. Brad believes that the landscape should fit the architecture of the home. He has taken an active role as the company’s representative with the Building Industry Association of Louisville (BIA) (formerly know as the Homebuilder’s Association of Louisville) for he sees the value of working with homebuilders to anticipate landscape problems that can alleviate some of their concerns. Brad uses plant textures to create effective landscapes even in the winter. A landscape should be interesting in all seasons. Brad has brought his knowledge to Frank Otte Landscape & Design Group in order to continue his work as one of the premier landscape providers in Louisville.
Brad is a true outdoorsman. He loves golf, tennis, camping, hunting, and cruising trails on his mountain bike. In the summer, you can often catch him with his wife (a Louisville Catholic school principal) and their three children skiing and tubing on Lake Cumberland. He also enjoys entertaining friends and family, reading biographies and medical thrillers, and cheering his beloved Wildcats. One would never know that Kentucky is Brad’s “adopted” home with his fondness of horseracing and bourbon. However, Brad’s most cherished time is spent teaching and watching his kids play sports and helping them with their math homework. His drive to care for his family by designing and installing the best landscape projects in Louisville will provide his clients with incredible results. Contact Brad today to discuss your project!
